Bio-Protection Research Centre
The Bio-Protection Research Centre focuses on finding new, non-pesticide and sustainable solutions to protect New Zealand's plant-based, productive ecosystems from plant pests, pathogens and weeds.
It incorporates one of the strongest bioprotection postgraduate training groups in the Southern Hemisphere and researchers collaborate with colleagues from internationally renowned research institutes.
Our research is organised into interlinking themes: biosecurity, sustainable bioprotection and plant bioprotection systems biology. Each theme incorporates aspects of matauranga Maori.
The Bio-Protection Research Centre comprises four partner institutes: Lincoln University, Massey University, and the Crown Research Institutes, AgResearch and Plant & Food Research. It is hosted by Lincoln University.
